I like design #2 - it’s the one with the umbrella
Although I’m not a big fan of the tag line underneath as a whole I think the design looks corporate, yet keeps the fun part with it. It conveys protection and trust which I like a lot. However it still needs to do a better job of conveying real estate. I will put in a request to the designer to see if he can alter that a bit. I don’t know if I like the colors. Although I do like primary colors for some reason they way the colors are used sort of reminds me of preschool. That is definitely NOT want I want to communicate. Our service is world class in my opinion and we yield amazing results with help from all of those that use it. The logo is professional and crisp. I think it has potential to be a contender. However it isn’t what I think is important that really matters. What do YOU want the logo to be for ShortSaleology? Tell the world!
Design #4 is the winner. It’s full of color, big and bright. It’s the only one with the design of the houses in it. The design of the house represents the real estate of the business. The ones with the roof don’t quite do justice, unless you’re in the roofing business. The clock, the umbrella and the man figure have very little connection to real estate and short sale in particular.
What I would change is the wording on the bottom of the sign that say “a community of short investors serving as one”. I suggest something like “a community of short sale investors” in slightly larger fonts. A “short” investor doesn’t have a good connotation.
Cory,
I looked at all the designs and the one that stands out the best to me is the # 15, the colors are vibrant and striking, the man raising his hand up is a symbol of helping the community which is your tag line even in all your material and emails “be a servant”. The line that says short sale investors serving as one is huge because that is what you are conveying on a regular basis, and that all investors are uniting together. Shortsaleology is bold and stands out by itself. You really captured the essence of the who you are and what you do with simple words and phrases. thats my opinion.
Thank you
scott M
I like #4, The Swordfish. It caught my eye right away from the standpoint of brightness, message it conveys is to the point and simplicity.
I would combine #15 and #5 , the key in the words goes a long way for a community such as this because essentially without knowing the secrets, you will not know the miracles you can perform for others. So very important.
Also, #15 has a great concept however I suggest to either move the house in front of the person as a front shadow or “flip” the house or make it “upside down” if it it going to be in the back of the person. This concept really conveys what a short sale is, technically the house is upside.
I’m excited to see what you’ll come up with based on the comments!
Color choices on all the logos are not really popping, but it depends on who’s eye you are trying to catch.
I like # 15 because its bright and colorful and also unique.. not only that it also very poppy..
Meaning it pops out visually with it bright colors and uniqueness.. I am also a logo designer and this is the most imp. aspect of any design is to make sure it pops out at you and dosent look generic or dosent look or resemble any others by mistake.. Definetly go with this one.. there are some runners up but this is the best! IMO # 15 is the winner hands down!! Did you get enuf to choose from..? What a selection.. choose and choose wisely.. #15
I like #4 , but I’m not crazy about the colors. Most experts say blues & greens are more pleasing to the eye (reference: http://www.vendorseek.com/using-color-to-entice.asp).
I also like #5 with the key, but I would prefer more color and maybe a house to associate it with the real estate community.
#16 is ok, but I don’t like the pastel colors.
Cory, what’s up with “150 Words” requirement for the contest? It’s kind of difficult to right a “book” about a logo.
#4 is so stock, I initially liked that one as well, but remember, this is not traditional real estate, it is how to do things differently and accomplish the goals you as an investor need to accomplish. Shortsaleology allows you to unlock those secrets.
If you want to catch the eyes of realtors and home buyers and compete in that space like everyone else, choose number #4, Main Street, USA should be the tagline.
If you want something different, upsidedown, inspirational and separates you from the crowd, work with #15!
I think you have some good ideas in some of the logos, but I don’t think you have a winner yet. If this is a logo for a website for investors, I don’t think you want a clock (tick-tock… time is running out) since we’re already under some pressure as well. I liked the key in #5 symbolizing a solution. The man protecting the fallen house in #15 is good as well, but maybe it can be improved to show the house not necessarily as fallen, but just under the protection of the man’s shadow or existence. Do you have any primary colors selected for your company? Most color experts say that the combination of green and yellow are the most pleasing for people to get a good feeling from them. Whatever your company’s colors are, I think you should select them for your logo. As far as your tag line goes, if people don’t know who Cory Boatright is or what Shortsaleology is, they’ll probably misinterpret “under one roof” and “… serving as one”. I think there was also a typo with “a community of short investors”! How tall are you Cory? I’m not tall, but I’m not short either:0). Overall, I want to thank you for giving us the opportunity to give you feedback on your new logo, and perhaps win something valuable. However, I think I have to wait to see more logos to pick my favorite. I hope the above ideas were helpful.
My comments are more question like rather than opinions.
Since this service (and logo) is directed at investors (not the home owners) I think these should be a reference to money or profit contained in the logo. It could be dollars signs or dollar bills, coins or bags of money. I believe this can be done in a creative and ethical way.
As for “Short investors” Is there a term or name that does a better job at describing the group. IE: Lien adjusters, Mortgage solution investors, Loan re-mediator investors, Mortgage resolution providers, etc. I realize these may not be the best examples but I am just trying to get the idea across.
Thats all for now folks!
I would suggest a Picture of House in the shape of a OPENED LOCK, underneath text of shortsaleology, and further down a picture of a KEY.
This whole thing completes the concept of shortsaleology.
Number 4 looks good. You might want to look at different color combinations.
Also suggestions for the subtitle
A Short Sales Community with a Servants Heart
Short Sales Investors With A Servants Heart
Unified Short Sales Investors With A Servants Heart–(United instead of Unified)
Short Sales Investors Unified With A Servants Heart–(United instead of Unified)
I vote for logo #15 (so far!). It is simple (i.e. not too ‘busy’) I think the colors are pleasing, enticing ones that you see alot of advertisers use. As they spend a lot of money researching such things as human psychology responses to colors used in advertising).
I like the fact that it shows a ‘house’ (real estate - a home) and a person. Which could be either the person who needs a solution to their present ‘home’ situation, or you as the ‘person’ who will help them find the right solution for their situation.
A person seems more personal to a distressed home owner then a “faceless big company”.
Karen
I opt for number 2. The clean design below the umbrellas coupled with the discriptors below the word Shortsaleology says it all. I particularly prefer clean design with clear messages–color is almost an afterthought.
#5 is the best with house and sun giving hope and uplifting.
Leslie
I vote for logo #15.
It’s clean yet web 2.0ish. All portions of the logo standout in correct proportion to each other making it visually pleasing yet not overwhelming.
As a side note, the umbrella in design #2 has been trademarked by Travelers Insurance Group. This probably is not much of an issue, but it may be a problem to avoid. http://www.travelers.com/
-Joel
#15 - It’s simple & sweet, and the tag line lets your lead know what it’s all about.
Merrick
My vote is for #15 by far. I love the use of the blue and yellow colors. They really make it stand out. I also like how the shadow is in the form of a house. That is brilliant! It is put together well and you really get the message.
hi, everyone. lots of great designs, you guys are getting really creative - way to go!
i like # 18 the best. the way the houses are drawn is kind of “warm” - not cold straight lines that would point to a large corporation that doesn’t care about people, but a nice neighbourhood company that is there for the needs of the people it is serving. it seems “homey”. on top of that, the sun rising from behind the houses means a new day, new hope, new beginnings.
one thing though - the text going under the word “shortsleology” should say “a community of short SALE investors serving as one”, NOT “a community of short investors serving as one” - there are many tall investors out here! lol but that is probably just an innocent omission.
i like the coloring - green and blue are ver noble colors, they reflect stability.
julia
I appreciate the opportunity to participate in your new logo. I don’t really have a particular I like so far. I do like the key concept in #5 and maybe adding a $ for short$aleology to integrate both concepts. I’m not too particular on the umbrella as it resembles the travelers group company. As others have stated, I would stay away from too many colors or primary colors as it doesn’t look as professional. Good luck on the final design.
I like #15 by the Big Fish. The person with the house shadow is really cool. I would try some different color variations. Just to see what they looked like.
I liked #15 by TheBigFish the best; however, I would change the color of the text so that “shortsale” and “ology” were different. Right now, it appears the emphasis is on “sale”
My second choice is #18 by Swordmaster
I’m sorry but I do not like any of the choices so far - There is no originality yet - All these are take offs of other advertizing thems - I’ll waite for the more creative ideas that I’m sure will come - Craig R.
Maybe to you could can incorporate the $ into $hort$aleology. I assume you want to advertise you company/service manly to investors. If your target market is the home owner then maybe leaving the $ out would be better but if it is the investor, I say incorporate the $ sign in your logo.
Can you clarify your market? After all I think we would all agree it is all about Marketing!
Good luck.
Hi Cory,
Well… no offense intended to the fine people who’ve designed these, but well — wow. Each of these sells the features, not the benefits.
What are features? Your cool name. Your cool courses.
What are benefits? Here are a few: Sleep all night. Freedom from fear. Comfort. Peace. Bright future. Sufficient income to help people who don’t know I helped them. Saving my own home. Losing a round of golf on purpose, at Torry Pines, to my best friend. Dining at the best seaside restaurant in town with my lovely wife, and having the head waiter greet her by name (I called ahead.) Those are benefits of having your course.
Please pardon me for traveling the opposite direction, in the midst of the thundering herd, but I think nearly all salespeople are carefully taught to go the wrong direction. I decided about 10 years ago that if a salesman does, then I don’t. Since I closed 10/10 = 100% of my personal prospects in June 2008, by not selling, and 2/2 in July so far, I might be onto something.
I will give you a good logo tonight. It will “feature a powerful benefit,” so to speak.
This is not to say I don’t like any of the designs. I like them all, a whole lot. I really do. Every one of them.
Your good friend, in San Diego,
David Mitchell

It looks like I might disagree with the popular vote but I really liked the look of #11.
It’s very WEB 2.0ish…it has a very internet and web friendly feel to it; not to mention it also has a very professional look to it; one that you would find in perhaps multi-million dollar enterprises. I also liked it because it was simple in its design without beign simplistic.
It sure looks like there are a lot of different opionions and you probably have your work cut out for you, Cory. Sifting through all these entries, I imagine might be a little challenging…so to help make the decision easier, I’ll encourage you to pick #11.
#11………………………………………….#11……………………………………………..#11
Hope that helps

Hi Cory!
I am voting for #15 because it symbolizes the freedom we are offering these homeowners from the burden of foreclosure (represented by the house), and the person with outstretched arms looks as if they have been empowered by what you(we) are doing for them. Being a servant!
Hi Cory!
I vote for #4. The color combination of red and yellow are appealing to the eye. Yellow is a good marketing color. I like the idea of using $ sign for the letter “s”. On the tag line I would suggest using - A community of caring investors serving as one.
Hey Cory
I agree with David Mitchell that the benefits need to be addressed but I am still unsure if you are marketing to the home owners or investors.
Hi Cory,
I can’t say that I am impressed by any of the designs. They all are run of the mill, they hint of insurance, real estate and home improvement. I think that you need to get something more origional. So for now no vote.
I vote for logo number 7. I love the design - very simple yet expresses very vividly the desires of every homeowner facing foreclosure. They are shouting … screaming for help with both their hands raised up high. The background shadow of the house was down on the ground with the homeowner standing up on top and in front of the house begging for somebody to help him/her out.
I also love the shades of green - giving every one who sees this logo a new hope and a new beginning!
I like #26. Not too cluttered and I liked the colors.
i submitted my comments on the “houses” design yesterday and so this is my 2nd response to your request.
my reason is: the design is clean (no clutter) straight lines go straight to one’s line of vision; the colors are clean; makes for a good corporate logo without fuss or muss.
if you add “tree” lines to the design this will depict community (in my eyes)!
God Bless and best wishes.

Cory, I know it’s late but I’ve been traveling. Here is my opinion and why. #23, in my opinion, is the best logo. Reason why: The colors are soft, inviting and easy on the eyes, the person in front has the “key” or knowledge to helping the two people “family” behind him out of a bad situation, imminent foreclosure.
I think #22 or #23 Rock!!! I like the concept on both of them. I would definitely go with the colors on #26 though but just the colors. I thought the colors on #24 were cool at first but then I thought it looked too much like a college cheer leading squad.
My favorites are 22, 23, 24, 25, 27.
I’d be happy as can be with any of those. I love the colors, concepts and just they way each of them “feels” to me.
…jp
I just emailed the designer - Mariah
Here was my message to her. Do you think I’m on point or way off? Let’s see if she puts up something different. If not, I’m really leaning towards #15 with colors from #5.
————————————
Mariah - Thanks for your contribution for the logo contest.
I had an idea or concept that I thought you might consider. I wonder how it would look it you were to make the roof out of two hands joined/interlocked to symbolize serving or helping? Does that make sense?
logo #27 or logo #25
Also… if you could add ” ..com ” in there somewhere stylish that would be good too.
I think hands are a great concept, however you gotta remember the target audience, although this is about joining in for help, it hard work, and it is also real estate. It’s not charity.
This is about investors who need to be strengthen as a community to help others work with the banks not necessarily forming a friendship or partnership with the homeowner, it’s a job and someone has to do it or else it doesn’t get done.
So, I think there has to be a little more to it than a helping hand. Although you can look at it as shortsaleology is a helping hand for investors who want to bond together and help each other.
Definitely is difficult to accomplish this task!
George - That is a great point. I think the hands would represent helping or serving and it would be up to the individual to interpret that. I also like the fact that ShortSaleology as a BRAND could then be more appealing to both real estate investors that use our services and current members that contribute to the community.
Does that make sense?
My vote goes to #22 because of the multi colors that stick out when I saw it. The hand showing a key tells me that someone is their to help out when you least expected. Like when you are trapped in a prison without a way out, someone hands you a solution to open that door and move on. The blue, orange, and green color catches my attention when I first saw the logo. Great work to the designer Boss. My only suggestion is to take out the gray color and do something more colorful? Or maybe not?
Michael
#22 is now my NEW favorite. It has it all. Color, impact, key, house and short ’sale’ investors. Karen
Yes, I agree with the 2 previous posts. I like #22 the best b/c it has color, key, house, and it uses the human hand to make it more “community”. Yes, this is a real estate site, but it’s also people helping people…I LIKE IT ALOT!! Way to go Boss (designer)! I think it really shows what this community is all about.
Does anyone think that # 22 is too BUSY looking? I am considering several things when getting input from you guys on the logo you want for ShortSaleology. One of them is reprinting it on shirts and hats ect… If everyone is gung-ho on #22 that is totally fine with me. However am I the only one that thinks it is REALLY busy looking? Also… do you guys/gals like the color choices?
I like #4 and can invision a combination of the concepts discussed above. How about taking the home logo as it is and in order to convey the concept of helping hands have the home being held (or cupped) by two hands. That might work with any of the logos that have homes in them. Also, I have been surprised that no one has incorperated the “ology” into any design, where are our science geeks? How about a beaker or something worked into t a desine!
I like #30 - the design only. I think it is well designed and looks sharp. I’m not real fond of the colors though. I prefer the color combinations of #22, #23, #24 much better.
Having spent most of my adult life in the military, I am very familiar with symbolism. Ive read the number of responses here and there is some great stuff, but we have to remember ‘who the target audience is’ with this logo.
Basic Design - #21 all the way, it really emphasizes the word ‘ology’ which wikipedia says. “ology denotes a field of study or academic discipline”. we are students of shortsaleology and we must understand that ourselves and it must be potrayed that way to any new members. its like being a real estate Surgeon. Its a highly skilled process and if it is not studied and taken seriously, our clients we are serving can have their lives ruined by our neglect to study the very most cutting edge techniques by placing ourselves among the best in the industry. Cory and his staff!
Colors - Blue has always being very symbolic of honor, fidelity, trust, etc…. its is a great foundational color to display a group of trustworthy shortsale servants. Green says to me Intelligence, Growth, Awareness. we must be intelligent and savy in our niche, continue to grow with the changes in our markets, and be constantly aware of the shifts in our industry like new Laws that affect our clients we serve.
Three Houses - the numbers of houses (3) is very indicative of the three parties involved in a shortsale transaction(seller, us, buyer) while the house in the FRONT by itself is also representing the shoertsale specialist stepping out from the crowd in the community saying, “I will take on the hassles and hardship of this shortsale and serve this distressed howmeowner”.
Umbrella or Handshake - i love both of those ideas and i wish there was a way to incorporate either one, but unfortunately it may make it a little too busy. remember, people have the attention span of a tic-tac, and that could be way to many moving parts. if it can be made to work though, i thik they are great ideas as ‘extras’ but could not substitute the previous.
.Com - dot com has to be there, this is an online community and that makes it special. you cant show up and knock on their door, you have to be on the cutting edge of things to be here. ok, ok, so you have to know how to use a mouse and keyboard, but thats beside the point. it indicates that it is online at that exact website address, and that being a strictly online community means that it will stay at the fore front of the industry by disseminating updates in the online blogs instead of waiting for a monthly newsletter in the mail or going to a stupid reia meeting once a month.
Cory, I think part of the problem is the tag line. I think you should remove it. Because you are not going to be able to put the tag line everywhere and at this point it is probably a distraction to the image and designers trying to fit it in to the image.
You can always ad the tagline without a problem but the “LOGO” should have its own trajectory and be able to stand alone and communicate the message of unity, community, shortsale”ology”, real estate.
A logo is suppose to evoke emotions without words necessarily, plus you want to be able to separate it for different media such as letterhead, contracts, website, and as you indicated, coffee mugs, t-shirts and the like.
Also if you separate the tagline, which basically makes your target audience short sale investors, your logo, symbol, could actually be used for cross advertising to consumers and you could possibly have one that is slightly different to let shortsaleology members used.
Think about it, if you are paying on this money in branding, why can’t the ssology members take advantage of it as well and use it in their material, it gives the program more exposure and it sorta becomes like a certification to homeowners that this company is part of a larger network of experts that can really get the job done. So when marketing material goes out the company can advertise, if it is a small and good logo, that they are a proud member/servant of the Shortsaleology community.
Just some thoughts to make this work for everyone!
I think #31 should remove the yellow background from image and let the hands become the background, enveloping the house and people! I don’t think the key has good placement at the moment, just seems to be floating there without real impact, except being forced and would only look strange in some places and display media.
Maybe one of the hand after you wrapped them around the house could be holding the key somehow?
#40. I like #40. It was on the top row and was the second design I saw. I continued to scroll down the page, certain I would find one that would stand out, that I liked better. It didn’t happen. #40 is clean, sharp, very professional, not cutesy ( I like the concept of the little man with hands held high and his shadow is a house #15,24). I don’t think you want cute. The colors are pleasing. The word “SALE” jumps out of the middle of the logo. (It is a short”sale”, not short “hold, till the market improves”). It is sharp and clean and would reproduce very well on a t-shirt ect…
Sherly,
I agree with you about #40. It is right now BY FAR my FAVORITE.
It is SIMPLE yet conveys a professional and powerful message.
Cory,
I guess I’m missing something? It took me a moment to get the two ll were forming a house, but it really doesn’t convey anything more than real estate.
I was under the impression you wanted something that lent insight into how ssology is different, this send a traditional run of the mill message, that doesn’t evoke excitement but leans towards run of the mill!
George,
At first glance it seems simple which is what I really like about it. However as you stare at it for 10 seconds you begin to notice some powerful messages.
The word ” sale ” is a different color which accents the foundation of the type of transaction the community is most excited to dicuss
The .com is the same color as sale yet it is turned on vertically which to me is a common Web 2.0 identifier. I like that too.
The two “l l’s ” you mentioned do form the roof of a house. That is a very clear, simple conveyance of real estate. However one l is a different color from the other one. That is a subtle message of it take both the ’sale” and the “ology” or the study or hence to be the communal effort to make the deal work.
The color combination is pleasing to the eye and it will reproduce well on shirt and hats.
I’m certainly not saying this is the absolute best this designer and can do. I think it might be possible to accent “community” or “elite service” very subtly without mucking up the clean logo. However although this logo seems boring at first glance it is very professional and conveys a lot with simplicity.
Just my two cents here… what does anyone think?
Problem is, you only get 2 seconds with this one, and you wouldn’t look at it in that much detail as you are. For marketing, attention and for it to be memorable beyond the moment, it doesn’t make you want to look into it any further and find out what it really is, what is going on, or ask any questions about it.
Back to the target audience questions, short sellers, what would they do upon sight of the logo vs homeowners vs those who don’t know anything either way but see you walking down the street with it. Simple is good if you have lots of dollars to create a lasting in your face impression, meaning over a period of time, brand and name recognition occurs as well. So most of the major brand names have the benefit of this, but most smaller companies don’t.
An image is worth a thousand words or picture as a they, and #40 is only truly words when it comes down to it!
I’m trying to be helpful so please don’t take it the wrong all!
Hi, I’m the one who design #0
Here’s what I thought
A great logo was created by long process. so there will be logo transformation. for example is Nike.
Before the swoosh become independent, they used NIKE with swooshed under the type.
So in this case, I think we better use typeface with accent, because the brand name it self still need to be recognizable/memorized. So…after the brand has been known worldwide, You can start play with images as your main Brand. ShortSaleology still need to be exposed first afterall..that’s a hard word to spell.
CMIIW
o yeah.. there are plenty logo that only play with type. for example Intel, microsoft, dell, P&G, fedex, DHL, Disney etc.
can you explain that george ?
Now that I look at #32 and 33, they’re pretty cool. Goes with the theme. I would try it out with a blue color to see how it looks. Now lets think of world renouned companies like Mc Donalds or Verizon. They are all just words and they get the point across. Color is everything I think. #40 will work very well I think.
I meant renowned, lol
Freddy, that’s my point, you take away the name from those logos and some of them you will know, others you may not. You would never recognize a small foreign companies logo. World renown branding cost lots of money and takes years to build.
I don’t really know what Cory is exactly looking for, simple is great, but also an image that can be used separate from the term shortsaleology is what I’m expressing and the community will automatically know what it is. There are going to be times and advertising where that term just does not fit on things with the slogan on top of that.
#50 has potential!
I didnt see #50, where is it?
oh there it is… it wasnt there a minute ago. Yeah I like 50
I still don’t get it.
I do not think any on them are going to be recognized by RE investors just looking at them. (in 3 seconds or less) I think a lot of folks will think you are talking about shorting stocks or just have no idea.
I have asked this before but do not think I received an answer . Who is the target audience? And if it is RE investors why don’t you incorporate the $ sign into the logo. Lets face I know we want to help folks (myself included) but most RE investors (I assume including you Cory) are “for profit operations” Its nice to put what ever spin you want on this but if you are marketing to RE investors then you need to zero in like a laser on what it is you do and what the benefit is PERIOD!
Anything else is just fluff plain and simple,
Good luck
Jay
This above all: to thine own self be true,
And it must follow, as the night the day,
Thou canst not be false to any man.
(Shakespeare, Hamlet)
Jay I agree,
But you want to be careful with the salesperson side of things as well, you don’t have to be in your face with a logo, the words and campaign strategies can project that as well.
I think Cory is looking to make something more professional than sleazy, which is what the image of this business is right now. Also, to make your point more defined, in the end it is about $$$ savings for everyone, the bank, the owner, the investor and the purchaser.
But again, I think you can communicate that in much more effective ways than having it in your image, you don’t walk around with the Scarlett Letter (dollar sign) on your chest do you?
George
You are correct. I was getting a little frustrated because it appears at least to me that almost every one here is breaking all the rules of marketing as I understand them them. . Just be cause they think THE MARKET will understand it does not mean they will. I guess I will just have to agree to disagree about how they are doing this. I agree that this should be professional.
Thanks again
Jay

Thou canst not be false to any man.
(Shakespeare, Hamlet)
I was trying in a nice way to express the same sentiment. As I know them to be, marketing is out the door on this one.
I use to think marketing and the principals behind it were for the lazy college students that just need to get through, I later found, it really works! However just like some others were saying about ology of shortsaleology there is a definite science behind marketing which I think, this is a great opportunity being missed!
George,
Your words, priceless. (No pun intended)
I hope they find a logo the will be understood by RE investors beyond this group. After all I thought that is what this is all about.
Thanks
Jay

Wow there are more logos going up all the time!
Thank you guys for all the input. That is why I decided to make this a community feedback event.
We are all going to have different opinions about this, but the idea is for you to voice yours so it would be considered before a final choice is made.
Here is a resource sent to me that I think adds a good visual representation of powerful logos built for branding worldclass services and products.

Do you see how most of them are basically text?
Most have only 2 colors max.
Consider eBay for example. Does it convey community, selling, bartering, Web, e-commerce, auctions, … anything?
Why is SO powerful? Some would say the TRAFFIC AND EXPOSURE made it an identifiable logo to the millions of users of it. Others might say it was a cool and un-used word “eBay” in fact… it wasn’t even a word… it was a made up one.
Hmmm…. let’s see. Is Shortsaleology a word?
NOPE
It’s made up.
Now…. let’s see. What do I think of if I’m a real estate investor and I had a friend ask me this question.
“Hey man… have you ever heard of ShortSaleology?”
What is the first thing that comes to mind?
Let’s start here and see what happens from the responses. I’ll go first.
If I never had heard of ShortSaleology before in my life, yet I’m a real estate investor… I would think immediately of : Short Sale + Study of it = some place to learn about short sale investing
Who’s next?
Keegan, my point is, a tremendous amount of money goes into marketing for these large companies, and all they want is there name to be imprinted and memorable, but they advertise everyone, to anyone and in many different venues, they spend so much money promoting that logo, more than our entire community makes in a year, because they invest millions into advertising, so don’t be confused about it being a great logo, they have great marketing streams and dollars. The next thing is, I think where all this breaks down, those MAJOR corporations, has a lot more population to cover and spread the word for them, we are only about 3 percent of the US homeowners and even less when it comes to investors.
I agree, the name will sale itself Cory, however, again it goes back to image, you are not creating one with just words and you are tarnishing it with cash symbols!
Cory,
I just have a question, I just noticed your Short Sale Fundamentals logo at the top of the page.
Can you tell me what is wrong with that one as a starting point and making it a little more web 2.0, professional and crisp.
I really think that has capture a lot of what everyone is saying on the post all together, so you got it right that time. Make you could make elements a little more abstract but the bridge, the dollar signs, the house, the people, the business, the community, it’s all there!
It even has the time clock, which of course we know is a key, key, key element!
Cory,
Just wanted to let you know I’m eclecticsherone on 99designs.com, I’m giving feedback to help spark more interest in the competition and try to win the prize for the contest, hope you don’t mind.
Cory:
#34 logo is great, It is clean & simple. The colors are bright & clean. Two things with short sales: You have a home that may go into foreclosure and you have people in distress. This logo represents both, a home & helping hands, to relieve them from stress. The hands are neat as the chimmney. You could even have smoke coming from the chimmney with words that helps the home owners ie: “save your credit”, “”we can help”. etc. I like the slogan ” A community of short investors serving as one. I would add the word “sale”. A community of short “sale” investors serving as one. Also maybe the word SALE be in a different color to highlite this to the home owner.

Cory:
Great idea on a LOGO CONTEST!!. You sure have accomplished a lot. I like logo # 15. The colors are great and good illustration. It represents a house and a person. The person has their hands up representing they are free from debt. The house is a shadow behind him representing this house (or stress) is now all behind the person. I like the word “SALE” in a different color. This stands out from the other words & pops. After all, this is what the home owner needs & wants.
I like the slogan “a community of short sale investors serviing as one”. You could also add the slogan from # 2 but change the word umbrella to roof: ” service, speed, confidence all under one roof”
The home owner wants to hear these words & it make the business card stronger.
Keep up the good work.

#74 Best describes your creative brief. Also this was also one of the few designers that understood what you missed typed in the brief “short community”. The design incorporates a community working together. Most important you will be able to use the graphic element as a stand-alone train the audience to recognize it as such. Create you own tee shirts, mugs and hats etc. with it .
Hey Cory, did you already select a winner to receive the fundamentals or hour?
Let us know!
Thanks
